This session will unravel some the mysteries of publication metrics and describe how the frequency and patterns of citations can help demonstrate impact using Web of Science.

By the end of this session, learners will understand how to find an interpret:

  • Authors: citation rates, H-index, Web of Science author profile
  • Articles: Citation counts, Citing items by classification, Citation networks
  • Journals: Impact factor, Journal citation indicator, Journal citation relationships
